![]() The Office of Student Affairs sponsors a health insurance policy for eligible students. Health Insurance – Affiliation Agreements with clinical sites may require students to provide evidence of adequate health insurance to cover long-term and emergency treatment or to be prepared to pay for such services.Drug Test – A 10 panel urinalysis drug test is required annually.Professional program students are required to abide by the AT Program dress code. All students must have a watch with a second hand. Clinical Clothing – Students should be prepared to purchase clothing, including khaki pants, appropriate length khaki shorts, collared shirts and inclement weather gear for use in their clinical experiences.Background Checks – Professional program students are required to undergo a series of annual background checks through. ![]() They are subject to change from year-to-year. CAATE-accredited professional AT programs provide the student with the appropriate formal classroom instruction and clinical experience necessary to succeed as an entry-level allied health professional. Candidates sitting for the BOC Examination must graduate from a CAATE-accredited professional AT program. Certification as an athletic trainer through the Board of Certification is required to practice as an athletic trainer. Students currently enrolled in the BSAT Program will be eligible to take the Board of Certification Examination upon completion of the course work. Pending CAATE approval of the degree transition, students who successfully complete the Master of Science in Athletic Training program will be eligible to take the Board of Certification Examination. ![]() ![]() The program is currently applying to the CAATE for a change in level of degree and is pending approval. The University of Alabama Athletic Training Program is currently accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE), 2001 K Street NW, Third Floor North, Washington, DC 20006 USA.
